jQuery Mapael can be used when needing to embed a highly interactive map, but not one relying on Google, Bing, OSM or other mapping service.

The plugin uses RaphaelJS to embed vector maps on the page, with support for various overlays on top of the map, section highlighting and legend fields.

jQuery Mapael is perfect for those custom maps you sometime see in statistics websites.
